Nathalie Schmeikal was born in 1985 in Mölndal outside of Göteborg. She grew up in the idyllic Bohuslän town of Skärhamn, in Tjörn municipality.

At the age of fourteen, Nathalie decided to set her sights on a career in music. Her unique voice brought her a lot of attention, and diverse musicians began to ask Nathalie to sing with them. For several years, she was a member of the reggae band Poubelle and the hip-hop renegades, Los Abandonados.

Her big breakthrough however came in 2004, when she decided to try her hand at a solo career. As one of the finalists in the Swedish “Idol” program, she reached millions of Swedish TV viewers, who quickly took her to their hearts. Her renditions of Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” and Boys II Men’s “A Song For Mama” touched many people and suddenly, her career took off. After the last segment of ”Idol,” several record companies contacted Nathalie; finally, she signed on with Palladium Music.

In 2005, Nathalie was busy with her debut album (Here with me), for which she wrote six of the 14 songs. On this album, which was released on 22 March 2006, she had some help from the elite of Swedish songwriters and producers, including Jörgen Elofsson (Britney Spears, Westlife, Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, and Kelly Clarkson), Douglas Carr (Ace of Base, Meja, The Corrs, Inner Circle, etc) and also the songwriting duo Roberto Martorell and Shawndark (Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Billy Crawford, A-teens, and Ciara).

In connection with the album’s release, Nathalie embarked on a big promotional tour, which featured live performances and radio, TV and magazine interviews. Her single, “We Think It’s Love”, remained on the Swedish charts for four weeks and made it to 24th place. The single received a lot of air time on the Swedish state-owned radio stations - P3, P4 and P5 - as well as on many local and community radio stations.

In the middle of August 2006, her follow-up single was sent to radio stations. This time, the title track, “Here With Me”, was selected as a single. This languorous ballad really shows off Nathalie’s voice at its best. Swedish radio stations picked up the ballad immediately and at this writing, it seems as if Nathalie has the world at her doorstep. At the same time, Nathalie is writing new songs and gathering new material for another album. She has also begun collaborating with a number of songwriters in both Europe and the United States.
